La Asociación Solidarista de Empleados de Durman Esquivel se constituyó gracias al esfuerzo de un grupo de empleados y al gran apoyo recibido por la Presidencia y Gerencia General a cargo del Sr. Arthur Durman y Jorge Mario Castro.
Desde 1975 se unieron esfuerzos para desarrollar una figura de Ahorro y Socorro Mutuo a los empleados de la empresa con el fin primordial de crear un instrumento de apoyo motivado por el ahorro y el desarrollo socioeconómico de los asociado.
Entre los primeros directivos de la Asociación podemos destacar a los
Srs. Martín Cabezas, Franklin Araya, Carlos Villalta, Vilma Vargas.
Asimismo un grupo de colaboradores como Olman Delgado, Manuel Guerrero,
Antonio Murillo, Carlos Mora, Otto Segura, Walter Alvarado, Elpidio
Granados, Faustino Sánchez, Gerardo Fernández entre otros, quienes
conformaron diversos comités y se entregaron ad honoren a las funciones
solidaristas.
Con el fin de procurar el desarrollo integral de cada uno de los asociados es que a finales de los 70´s se logra un convenio con la compañía que permitió pasar parte de la cesantía de los empleados que estaban afiliados a la Asociación en bonos a largo plazo con el fin de crear un fondo de Préstamos para vivienda.
Este fondo fue administrado durante varios años por la asociación y se logró desarrollar gran cantidad de soluciones de vivienda en varios proyectos en El Encanto de Calle Blancos, San Miguel de Desamparados y Dulce nombre de Coronado principalmente, así como soluciones independientes para otros empleados que contaban con lote propio, viviendas con hipotecas y/o reparaciones de viviendas propias.
A principios de los 80´s se desarrollaron otras actividades comerciales que incluían entre otras la venta y entrega a los hogares de productos de la canasta básica con oportunidades de financiamiento y la contratación de un contador para este tipo de actividades comerciales.
La figura jurídica de la Asociación se mantuvo de esta manera hasta la promulgación de la ley de asociaciones solidaristas en 1984. A partir de esta fecha, la directiva gestionó, en conjunto con la Dirección de la Empresa presidida por el Sr. Arthur Durman, el Gerente General Francis Durman y el Asesor Legal Lic. Harry Castro, los trámites necesarios que permitieron incluir oficialmente a la Asociación en el Movimiento Solidarista y una vez cumplidos los requisitos se publico internamente a los asociados las decisiones tomadas.
Aprovechando toda esta corriente de pensamiento filosófico de justicia social, es que el 5 de abril de 1985 se constituye lo que hoy es la Asociación Solidarista de Empleados de Durman Esquivel y afines ASEDE.
Gracias a ese esfuerzo desinteresado ASEDE ha seguido su curso de crecimiento y desarrollo para bien de sus asociados, sus familias y para la empresa, colaborando en construir un ambiente de paz y buenas relaciones obrero-patronales, y de la calidad de vida de sus asociados.
Somos una asociación impulsada por el Solidarismo, comprometida a sobrepasar las expectativas de nuestros asociados que inició como una caja de ahorros y préstamos para convertirse en una de las mejores Asociaciones del país, una organización líder de altos valores éticos y morales.
No sentimos verdaderamente orgullos de nuestro modelo de desarrollo, un modelo Solidarista que lucha por el crecimiento y bienestar de sus asociados y sus familias en comunión con la empresa que nos vio nacer…Durman Esquivel.
